July 2015:

Founder Richard Del Connor has added 127 new documents to this Tai Chi Youth website. Included are most of the pages of the TCY Board of Directors Notebook assigned to each Board Officer. For the convenience of all board members, these pages are available for downloading and can be printed by each Board Officer.

These new documents can be accessed from a new webpage created by Richard. Links to each document are listed in the order they would be contained in the actual notebook traditionally provided to each board officer after election to the TCY Board of Directors.

Richard also drew a basic layout for the ultimate Tai Chi Youth Main Office. This 3-story building includes the TCY Online Studio and a basement for the post production facilities required to create our online programs. The roof would provide the best way to keep the TCY Patriarch in the building, as he will need a place to teach Buddha Kung Fu and Shaolin Chi Mantis students and private lessons.

Tai Chi Youth is still recruiting our TCY Board of Directors. Some positions have been filled.

This is an exciting time for Tai Chi Youth as we mature from a 20-year volunteer organization to an online school with paid staff and executive salaries.

Until our new school is built, classes will be provided at North Hollywood Park for students and TCY staff.

Tai Chi Youth will focus the rest of 2015 on our two annual Push Hands Tournaments:
3rd Saturday in September
3rd Saturday in November.

The two prior Saturdays of each weekend will be Push Hands Seminars. We will be challenging ALL Los Angeles martial arts schools to attend and compete in this tournaments.

Scott Karahadian will producing documentary videos of these events for fundraising and promotion of the Kung Fu Cowboy Rock & Roll Movie 1, which starts with a Push Hands tournament.

Tuesday evenings will be TCY FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE meetings. Please attend any of these meetings if you would like to help us raise funds for these events and our NEW TCY SCHOOL.

Thursday evenings will TCY TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE meetings. Please attend any of these meetings if you would like to help us raise funds or get support from our local restaurants, businesses...

TCY Board of Directors meetings are Saturdays at noon, after a new TCY Class provided for all TCY staff who cannot attend the weeknight classes.

May 2015:
Tai Chi Youth is recruiting a NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

Since all Trustees and Employees of TCY are required to participate in Tai Chi Youth classes, we have created a unique TCY Interview Process: Group interviews are being held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm followed by a Tai Chi Youth GROUP CLASS at 7pm. This will enable all applicants to clearly understand what Tai Chi Youth is and how wonderful our programs are.

Wear tennis shoes (never barefoot) and loose-fitting clothing, preferably cotton. Solid color clothing without ads and pictures is preferred for our classes.

Classes are normally $20 each, but this fee is waived for the interview process. You may donate the class fee if you desire.

Please call Founder/Instructor Richard Del Connor to verify class and location. (Limit of 10 per group interview.)
818-723-2769.

Location: North Hollywood Park. S/W corner of intersection at Magnolia and Tujunga Ave. across from YMCA and Masonic Temple on Tujunga Ave. Parking is easier on Magnolia Blvd. or in Masonic Temple parking lot where our classes may be held when they are done remodeling.

September 2011:
Tai Chi Youth is now registered with grants.gov. Our registration with the NIH and eraCOMMONS is forthcoming. Richard Connor is the official representative of Tai Chi Youth for all our government grants. Richard has been studying all available grant writing and nonprofit books from our local libraries. Unfortunately, these did not fully prepare him for the new styles, requirements, and methods of online grant writing used currently. Richard is also our official grant writer. Our first grant will target "obesity" and seek financing for the TCY Online School.

  • Richard has created a 6-Year Plan for Tai Chi Youth
  • Year 1: Creation of all documents, plans, and organizational materials.
  • Year 2: Building of the TCY Online School
  • Year 3: Produce videos, and begin customization and using TCY Online School
  • Year 4: LAUNCH TCY Online School - Adult programs, private, group
  • Year 5: License youth programs and enlarge online sales
  • Year 6: License youth teen programs in schools, colleges, accredited school programs

August 2011:
TCY President, Richard Connor, has submitted and received approval of the TCY Board of Trustees of the new TCY Mission Statement, TCY Case Statement, and fundraising objectives for Tai Chi Youth. This is an exciting transition for Tai Chi Youth as we move into building and launching the TCY Online School.

July 2011:
The TCY Database is ready for the new TCY Membership Director, TCY Treasurer, and TCY Program Director. Many of our students from the past 16 years do not have current addresses or email addresses. This will require tracking them down by snail mail, phone calls, and associated members.

June 2011:
Tai Chi Youth has a new TCY DATABASE. Records have been pulled from our previous databases that were combined with Shaolin Communications, since most customers were also customers of Shaolin Communications, Shaolin Chi Mantis, Shaolin Records, or Buddha Kung Fu. Richard's customers are being informed of their inclusion into this database which now has 630 members/customers.

May 2011:
Richard Del Connor, TCY President, is restructuring the organizational goals and computer systems of TCY.

The accounting system has been reconfigured from his Shaolin Communications database to a free-standing accounting system.

With the aid and support of the Glendale SBA and SCORE counselors, TCY President Richard Connor has created a new TCY Business Plan. This is based upon the for-profit business plan the SBA helped Richard develop over the past year.

April 2011:
Tai Chi Youth has reincorporated in California. This also includes a new shift in our mission and goals.

March 2011:
Tai Chi Youth moves into ONLINE VIDEOS SALES

"4 Winds Of Shaolin" is a filmed Buddha Kung Fu class at CV Park.

To view/download/stream "4 WINDS OF SHAOLIN" Qigong video:

March 2010:
Perhaps the fundraising or promotions for the shaolinINTERACTIVE.com 66 VIDEOS will stir interest in Tai Chi Youth.

The KUNG FU KIDS classes at the YMCA lack the support of the parents, so the kids aren't taking it seriously enough.
